In the first part of this series, we learned African art has been given a specific set of criteria that must be fulfilled to be considered traditional and authentic. First, the work must have been created by non-European Africans, free from any Christian or Islamic influences; and second, the artworks must have been used by the respective African tribes in ceremonies, festivities or daily life.
